What

Boot once to the prompt, save QEMU's state, and start every session from it: a visitor lands at ok> in seconds, not after a minute or two of boot and POST under TCG.

Why

Under software emulation a cold boot with POST takes too long for a visitor to wait.

Done when

  • A script makes the saved state from an ISO, booted to the prompt
  • The launcher resumes from it; 3 4 + . answers 7 ok
  • Time to the prompt measured, cold boot against resume
  • Rebuilt from each nightly's ISO (later: a step of the nightly)

Built and tested in 9e711563, on StarForth-v4.0.0; reaches master by PR, through acceptance. See demo/README.md, Tested: ready 0.2 s after a session starts (a cold boot is 87 s); 3 4 + . -> 7 ok through ttyd's websocket; QEMU gone at once on hang-up, close and time-out.
