Captain Bob, 2026-11-08: "some of our document built pdf's should be published on .com; The Book of Fabric and a 'dictionary' document with the word, stack notations and descriptions. Alphabetical." -- v4's words only (v3 is being retired, #156); a Documents page on the .com; with alpha.4, beside Downloads (#126).

Built (to do)

  • The dictionary of v4, one PDF, <version> and the commit on its title page: every word v4 boots with (PARITY:V4_SYSTEM word_count, 317 today -- capsules/v4/sys/*.f18, capsules/v4/*.4th, the kernel's host words), alphabetical, each with its stack notation and a description, and where it is defined.
  • Its source in the tree: a table (name, stack effect, description) joined at build to the live word list of the built system, so the names are never typed by hand.
  • A check that fails the build when a live word has no entry, or an entry names no live word: the dictionary cannot fall behind the system.
  • Built by the docs pipeline (make dictionary; scripts/nightly.sh docs), attached to every release beside the Book of Fabric (#138), published as org.starship:documentation:<version>, classifier dictionary.
  • The .com's Documents page (a canvas artboard first, then site/com): the Book of Fabric and the Dictionary -- and the book, the three volumes and the API reference the release already attaches -- each linking its PDF on the release, with its version and SHA-256; built from the release, as the Downloads page is (#126). In the .com's navigation beside Downloads.

Done when

  • The dictionary PDF builds, alphabetical, every live v4 word in it with a stack notation and a description; the check refuses a missing word
  • Both PDFs attached by the alpha.4 release
  • The Documents page on the .com links them, with checksums
